An Evening with Dr. Walter Willett

Councillor Henrietta Davis is pleased to announce a forum on healthy eating featuring Dr. Walter Willett, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Willett is the author of Eat, Drink and Be Healthy and co-author (with Mollie Katzen) of Eat, Drink and Lose Weight.

“I’m very pleased to be presenting Dr. Willett, a Cambridge resident, who is a foremost authority on the effect of fats on diet and health.  His campaign to promote the eating of healthier fats - for example eating olive oil and other healthy fats rather than transfats – has led New York City to propose a ban on transfats at restaurants.

“We’re probably all eating more olive oil because of Walter Willett. I know I am,” said Davis.

Councillor Davis, who favors a New York - style transfat ban for Cambridge, is co chair of the Healthy Children Task Force. Efforts by the Task Force promoting healthy living for Cambridge children have been nationally recognized.

The event will be held on Thursday, October 18 at the home of Genevieve and Joe Coyle at 230 Lake View Avenue.  It is also sponsored by Ginny Burns.  For more information contact the Committee to Elect Henrietta Davis at 617-547-0877.
