Cambridge residents are passionate about their fresh fruit and vegetables. I’ve held a series of organizing meetings to encourage the city government to expand this effort.
I’ve pressed for more community garden plots – 40 more plots were added this year. More are on the way.
I’m organizing community-based activities celebrating local agriculture, such as the Harvard Square Urban “Ag” Fair featuring vegetables grown in Cambridge, scheduled for Sunday, September 20.
I’m connecting businesses and community organizations to food pantries in order to increase the supply of fresh fruit and vegetables to low-income residents.
I worked to establish the successful and beloved Cambridgeport Farmers’ Market, assuring that it got through the regulating process about 12 years ago.
